Edel McCarthy
Director
Edel trained with St. Nicholas Montessori College Ireland in 1990 and holds a Diploma in Montessori Education. She opened Gilford Montessori in her home in 1991. Edel gained further experience as manager of Star of the Sea Playgroup from 2002 to 2008 and also at Little Pals Montessori in Enable Ireland. Edel opened Gilford Montessori and After School in Railway Union Sports Club in 2008 with Ulla McCarthy and then moved to our purpose built facility located on the grounds of Scoil Mhuire, Lakelands, Sandymount in August 2009. Edel lives in Sandymount with her husband, Greg, and three children, Sorcha, Niall and Benen.
Ulla McCarthy
Director
Ulla trained at St Nicholas Montessori College Ireland and graduated with a BA in Humanities in Montessori Education in 2007 and went on to graduate with a BA (Hons) in Montessori Education in 2009 and an MSc in Management from UCD Smurfit Business School in 2018. Ulla worked with Joanne O’Reilly at Sandymount Green Montessori in 2007 and 2008. She opened Gilford Montessori and After School with Edel McCarthy in Railway Union Sports Club in 2008 and then moved to our lovely purpose built school located on the grounds of Scoil Mhuire, Lakelands, Sandymount in August 2009. Ulla lives in Cabinteely with her partner, David, and her three children, Anna, Ronan and Laura.
